That moment when you're coasting down a big hill and going so fast that you can't pedal quick enough to go any faster and you're reliving one of the best parts of childhood because this is an awesome hill and then your 27 year old adult mind kicks in and goes HOLY SHIT THIS IS ALMOST AS FAST AS THE CARS AND I'M ON A F*CKING BICYCLE.
That was my afternoon. On the plus side I found that I can do an 8 mile ride with no major problems, though I had to give in and actually learn how to use my gears, because you can't ignore the hills around here. I just moved from an area that had very few hills and you knew exactly where all of them were. My current area is similar to where I grew up and I'm remembering that there are always hills and while I kind of hate it I'm totally digging the ability to not have to walk my bike up the hills for the first time in my life, which is the result of giving up my jeep and depending on human powered transport. And the light rail, because the big city is 10 miles away and I'm not quite that badass yet.
